Our first married Christmas aka Food and Skates

This Christmas day we spent with ourselves, a rack of lamb, and some ice skates.  Normally spent with our respective families, we decided to spend Christmas day alone and start some new family traditions of our own.  In true fashion, two of these traditions were based on food.

For breakfast, we had cinnamon rolls.  The good kind from the tube.  The kind of tube that I can't open because I'm afraid of the popping sound it makes.  POP!  hate that.

For dinner, rack of lamb.  To quote Adam, "this is the best thing I have ever ate."

Before the cinnamon rolls we opened presents.   This is my 'just woke up' look.  I know, I look hot.

Between food courses, we went ice skating in Prospect Park.  I, successfully, didn't fall once.

  1. Oh, I wish Josh and I could put our foot down and say we're spending a holiday completely alone. For us there is SO MUCH back and forth...it's just not fun. Your day sounds heavenly.

  2. Em- Do It!! Even though I saw them the next day, it was hard for me to be away from my family on Christmas Day - but, it was TOTALLY worth it to create some traditions of our own.

  3. Good choice on the cinnamon rolls -- even if they do make that awful popping noise. Man, are they delicious! And easy. And what you need on Christmas morning is deliciously easy.
